Yesterday´s work!

After work yesterday I ran up to Frognerhouse Apartments to take some pictures of the new office space they are renting out - with my pics on the walls:)

After that I met up with Tommy Fredvang!

He is a young and aspiring musician who is currently working on his second album.

Really looking forward to the shoot with him:)

Hint - red red wine...

After my coffee with Tommy, I was off to Bygdøy to take some portraits of Atle.

He is releasing his first single as a solo artist and it is set to be available for the public in mid May.

Can you believe this sunset???!!!!

No place is better than the Norwegian archipelago in summer (or spring in this case...) !

Easter vacation!

Had a great vacation.

Got a lot of sleep and feel somewhat rested!

Can you believe the weather we had?! 

I have been wearing dresses all week:)

Reading my favorite magazine and drinking frappe!

Looking for inspiration and as usual, Annie Leibovitz came to my rescue. 

How come every amazing cover I find - she took it! 

She has such a special eye for great motives.

This week is going to be great!

Have a couple of meetings and I am shooting Atle Pettersen again on Wednesday. 

He is releasing a new single and needs a cover photo:)

Easter vacation:)

I can´t wait for this vacation to start!!!

Finally some much needed rest.

The shoot with Aspera yesterday was perfect & I think the boys were happy with the vibe I put into the pics.

They are using the pics for the second release of their album.

I will share them with you after they are live;)

Took these pics while I was out shooting this weekend.

It is something so uplifting about seeing flowers emerge from the ground in spring.

It always gives me a sense of hope!

No time for bitter!

I was supposed to be in L.A. now, at Coachella....

I am a bit bitter as I sold the tickets to my friend and she is over there right now dancing with Chris Brown!

So I am trying my best to stay busy and not think about it...

Today I am shooting Aspera! Portrait pics of the band members:) I am sure they are going to deliver, as will I!

I am thinking Anton Corbijn inspired photos, something like this maybe?

Also I am picking up some pictures I sold to Frogner House Apartments:)

They are starting up an Office hotel and wanted my pics on the wall! How cool is that?! 

Printed them on white aluminum and can hardly wait to see the result.

Was out shooting all weekend to complete the order that they gave me - in all 25 pics:)

I have also made a lot of plans after easter... Several new artists to shoot! 

I am so excited!!!!

This means that I have no time for bitter!

Christel Alsos live at Rockefeller 2011!

Christel is by far my favorite Norwegian musician and I was so happy to get the opportunity to shoot her yesterday at Rockefeller.

This young lady has come a long way since I went to her last concert at Rockefeller in 2007.

With the release of her second album "Tomorrow is" she shows a confidence that suits her well.

She is staying true to the acoustic sound but this time with more depth and power.

Her voice has during her career been filled with melancholy and truth but on this album it is obvious that she is more secure. Both in regards to meeting her audience and in vocal range.

She showed us that her voice is now more powerful than ever and she definitely showed the lucky crowd yesterday that she is not afraid anymore!

From the softest of tunes to real power and range she completely blew my mind yesterday.

I cried!

She has that effect on me.

Good thing I found Kleenex in my bag because the tears lasted for about 5 songs...

She included songs from both of her albums and also did her own version of "Yellow Cab" by Joni Mitchell and a tremendous version of Ben Harpers "I shall not walk alone".

The latter performed with such a profound empathy and strength that I am sure that Ben Harper himself would fall to his knees in admiration!!!

Candles, wine, warmth, camera, complete happiness <3

All in all I had a great cultural and emotional experience and I am thankful for it.

I find it amazing that one person can touch you in such an emotional way.

The power that lies behind the gift of an artist should never be undermined. 

And it is therefore of great importance that the artists are aware of the message they are sending.

Contributing with beauty like this is rare and I would recommend that if you ever get the chance to see Christel live - don´t hesitate!

Oslo by night - #3

It is a very special feeling you get when you frame your photographs...

A sense of pride comes over you.

I pore my heart and soul into my pictures and therefore it´s like the birth of your inspiration and work.

When you see it blown up like this (40x60) and beautifully framed it´s a true manifestation of the hunt for the perfect picture!

I have to add that beauty is in the eye of the beholder, so I don´t necessarily expect you to think that any of these are perfect, but still I am proud:)

I would never show a picture that I wasn´t happy with.

So I am happy to see these in full scale!

Annie = model?

I don´t think so...

But I was one yesterday evening:)

It was a fun experience & I learned a lot about being in front of the camera.

What is expected of a model?

I wouldn`t know since I have only done it a couple of times, but I felt like a spy undercover.

Being a photographer myself I did learn a lot about the process on how a master thinks during a shoot.

The master was Morten Qvale <3

I can´t go into details about the shoot now, but hopefully I can share the outcome with you:) 

Chiaroscuro!

I tried to set the light in a chiaroscuro setting.

As you can see I have so much to learn!!

The light is to hard.

Need to soften up it seems;)

Either way - I kinda like the picture:)

One of the most unique models, Kristen McMenamy, was photographed by Paolo Roversi for the Unique supplement of the recent Vogue Italia Sepetmber 2010 issue. 

The Grand Couture was styled by Edward Enninful with set design by Jean-Hughes de Chatillon, makeup by Pat McGrath and hair by Julien d'Ys.
